SOMAPAK Ltd. was founded in 1986 as an Italian–Hungarian joint venture, initially specialising in the manufacturing of packaging machinery. In 1995, following the buyout of the foreign ownership, the company became a fully Hungarian, family-owned enterprise. Over the years, the company’s scope of activities has continuously expanded in line with market demands, and through significant investments it has extended its operations to areas such as custom machine manufacturing, CNC component production and sheet metal technologies.
Machines manufactured by SOMAPAK Ltd. operate in numerous countries worldwide, including Hungary, across Europe and overseas. The equipment is used in a wide range of industries, most notably in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, automotive, electronics and construction sectors.

Corporate Developments:
In recent years, SOMAPAK Ltd. has implemented significant developments within several interconnected domestic and EU-funded projects, aimed at expanding production and manufacturing capacities and advancing technological modernisation. The investments included the installation of a modular laser cutting system, CNC machining centres, specialised welding technologies, as well as the construction of new production and warehouse halls.
The developments also covered the introduction of Industry 4.0-based IT and production management solutions, improvements in energy efficiency using renewable energy sources, and research and development activities, including the development of a universal homogeniser prototype. As a result of these complex investments, the company’s manufacturing flexibility, efficiency and supplier capacity have increased significantly.
