Profile:
The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology of the University of Pécs, with approximately 3,000 students, several decades of educational experience, and a renewed and expanded campus, is one of Hungary’s leading institutions of technical higher education. The Faculty serves as a key center of engineering education in the Southern Transdanubian region and is an important contributor to Hungarian technical and IT higher education.
Since September 2014, an undivided architecture engineering programme as well as doctoral programmes (PhD and DLA) have been available. From September 2015, several bachelor’s and master’s programmes have also been offered in English. Since 2015, practice-oriented dual education programmes have been operating in several engineering bachelor’s programmes, with the active involvement of industrial partners.
The Faculty employs 135 academic staff members, of whom 82 hold PhD or DLA degrees. A significant proportion of the teaching staff are habilitated and hold academic or artistic distinctions. More than half of the faculty members are under the age of 50, supporting continuous renewal and innovation.
Products and Services:
The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology of the University of Pécs provides a comprehensive higher education portfolio in the fields of engineering, information technology, and the arts. The available bachelor’s programmes (BSc) include architecture engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, technical teacher training, as well as programmes related to the fields of architectural and construction arts.
In addition to bachelor’s programmes, the Faculty offers master’s programmes (MSc/MA), including programmes related to mechanical engineering, as well as undivided programmes, doctoral programmes (PhD/DLA), and higher education vocational programmes. Continuing education programmes related to mechanical engineering and associated technical fields include, among others, nuclear power plant operation engineering, facility energy engineering, and fuel cell and hydrogen technology engineering.

Know-how and Technologies:
Education is strongly practice-oriented and includes a six-week summer internship, professional days organized with the involvement of industry experts, and project-based learning. In technical teacher training programmes, practical competencies are further supported by development-focused training sessions and independent student projects.

Developments:
Between 2007 and 2008, the Boszorkány Street campus underwent a comprehensive renovation. The approximately 20,000 m² educational and research complex features modern, air-conditioned classrooms equipped with up-to-date multimedia tools, as well as laboratories presenting the latest technologies. The campus also includes a renovated dormitory with a capacity of 800 residents.
