“We have unique developments in Hungary” – Introducing the cluster’s new member, Vatner Ltd.

Vatner Ltd. stands out among domestic healthcare manufacturers with its unique, complex solutions: it handles everything from design to implementation. Its modular operating rooms and clean rooms have already proven themselves internationally.

Vatner Ltd. has undergone tremendous development since its founding: it started out manufacturing electronic components in 1999, then introduced the Integrated Service Management system in healthcare, handed over Hungary’s first mobile CT screening station, and successfully completed numerous R&D projects. Recently, the company expanded with its own manufacturing, assembly, welding, and powder coating plant.
Production began in 2022 at Vatner Ltd. in their Kaposvár factory, where, according to factory manager Zoltán Grósz, the first year was mostly about finding their way. Today, the product portfolio has been refined and the customer base is constantly expanding. A team of professionals has been formed, and through continuous development of the organizational culture, they are able to not only retain their workforce but also increase production efficiency. They are proud of the cleanliness of their manufacturing plant, its orderliness, and its extensive modern machinery.
They have been present in the healthcare industry for decades, but they know that today it is no longer possible to rely on a single sector. “Our industry has not provided sufficient stability in recent years, so we have started to open up to new areas and have obtained various welding certifications in the hope of new potential work. In addition, targeted business development activities are very important,” said Zoltán Grósz.

Modular operating rooms and clean rooms
Vatner Ltd.’s flagship product is a fully integrated, modular operating room system, which is unique in that it offers a complete solution regardless of the construction site: design, manufacturing, and installation. This fast and flexible system combines cost-effectiveness with high technical standards. Visitors are welcomed in a meeting room designed as a demonstration operating room, so that the company can immediately show them its products up close.
The company also manufactures cleanroom technologies, for example for electronic products or food packaging. The manufacturing range is even wider: thin sheet metal processing and contract work, such as laser tube cutting and powder coating, are also among their services.
“We have competitors, but there is no other company in this industry that designs, manufactures, and implements. We have everything under one roof,” emphasized the plant manager.

Deliveries to Iraq and Pakistan
They have significant international references in addition to domestic ones: they have already delivered tens of thousands of square meters of panel workshops to Iraq and Pakistan, and their products are present in several countries within Europe. Among their Hungarian projects, Zoltán Grósz highlighted the operating rooms they manufactured and delivered at the end of 2023 to the Honvéd Hospital in Budapest, the hospitals in Békéscsaba and Nyíregyháza, and in 2024, they donated a complete operating room to the hospital in Kaposvár.
They place great emphasis on R&D, and their developments include, for example, a self-sterilizing system that is unique on the domestic market.

They hope for business development from the cluster
As SWHEC members, they are primarily looking for new business opportunities: “We want to build relationships, both domestically and abroad, as this can lead to collaborations that allow us to reach new markets or even enter new fields.”They do not currently plan to take on apprentices, but SWHEC offers factory tours through its scholarship programs, which help young people with career orientation and give them the opportunity to get to know Vatner Ltd. as a potential employer.

They are open to future collaborations, whether in joint projects or exchanges of experience, especially those where knowledge and capacity can be mobilized across industries.
