The company has built up a strong position as a supplier to wind power plants, as well as to the railway and nuclear energy sectors. Its customers include multinationals such as ABB, Siemens, and General Electric.
László Lakics founded the company in Sántos in 1985. The family business has undergone significant growth over the decades since then. In 1995, they purchased the mining machinery factory in Komló, and in 2010, they opened a new factory in Kaposvár, which they are continuously developing.
Lakics Gépgyártó Ltd. has a wide range of activities, covering almost every phase of steel structure manufacturing. These include, among others, component manufacturing, edge bending, rolling, welding, locksmith assembly, stress relief, mechanical CNC machining, surface treatment and painting processes, material handling, and laser, water level and measuring instrument quality control, as well as weld seam testing. The company does everything in its power to ensure that its products meet the high quality expectations of its customers.
The company plays an important role not only in the economy but also in the life of the local community, creating jobs and contributing to the development of the region.
The 40th anniversary is not only a milestone in the history of Lakics Gépgyártó Ltd., but also a continuation of a family tradition for the future: continuous development, innovation, and maintaining high quality.
In 2023, the machine manufacturer installed a 360 kW solar power plant, and in 2024, it introduced a new enterprise management system to improve efficiency and production planning. The modernization of Lakics Machine Manufacturing’s machine park is ensured by continuous machine and equipment purchases and renovations. The company keeps pace with technological innovations in the industry, whether it be 3D laser geometry precision measurement, vizometric AI quality control, or laser projectors for assembling metal structures.
They are committed to continuous improvement and sustainability.
They provide their employees with a modern working environment, regularly renovating changing rooms, the factory, and offices. As a family- and dog-friendly workplace, they offer regular home office opportunities. They have their own training workshop and full-time instructor, teaching CNC machining to their students. They cooperate with steel structure manufacturing and machining companies in the region and have established good subcontracting and cooperative relationships. They are active members of the Southwest Hungarian Engineering Cluster, within which the region’s engineering companies meet regularly to share their experiences.
